The Problem
You're drowning in thoughts and feelings you don't like.
Anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts.Burnout, procrastination, perfectionism.Numb, afraid, confused.Guilt, shame, and self loathing.Unworthy, unloved, and estranged.Maybe these are ongoing or just when you try to do the things you care about. Generally making life not a good time.Maybe you identify with things like OCD or ADHD.You may have tried to eliminate these things out of your life but they just keep coming back around. Driven by fear you are in constant survival mode to keep your head above water.Getting up and over these issues has been your main goal, or maybe you have felt defeated and this is something you will just have to manage forever and given up on the dreams you had - because these experiences seem to break and destroy. So you shrink your life to avoid bumping into these experiences, but even in the shrinking you may find they still start to close in.However -What if there is a different way?
Reframe
The problem that you think is the problem isn't the problem.
Trying to have less anxiety, less depression, and less intrusive thoughts is the problem. It is in the coping, checking, controlling, and avoiding of those experiences that is causing you suffering.Someone who is training for a marathon wouldn't make their goal to get rid of their legs... They would be learning how to build the capacity to run more miles on the road to their goal of a marathon.Your mental & emotional health is no different.
THE PATH
You are human, be a human
You are a human being, humans feel things. Instead of making your whole life about solving a problem, make your whole life about what sets your heart on fire.On that path of giving yourself to what you care about most, you certainly will encounter some turbulence.Fear, limiting beliefs, trauma, old emotional programming, and so much more. You'll have the chance to practice engaging those experiences differently, making changes that will lead to long term sustainable health and happiness. Expanding your capacity for uncertainty, and rewiring your brain along the way.Naturally as we begin to engage life differently we open the doors for a deeper integrated practice.
The Transformative path
Becoming Who You Where Created To Become
What emerges as awareness deepens?
As fear's grip softens?
As your willingness to have any thought or feeling increases? You are offered the chance to really drop into your heart and to live into your body.Integrating into the
Recovering from Mental illness
The moment you choose to start running you are a runner. Not after you have run 5 miles, 10 miles or a marathon. But right now.The moment you choose to live your values, you are recovered. Not after you have expanded your abilities past a certain range but right now. And you get to keep expanding as you practice. We find it so much more useful to see it as fitness. You are dangerously out of shape - you have had a terribly poor diet of behaviors - and the moment you decide you want to start working out you are on the path. There is nothing to recover from, only capacities to build.Sure there will be some things to heal, to nurse back to shape. Just like if you broke your leg you wouldn't go run on it tomorrow. But you would start doing the little things now. Eating healthy, sleeping so you can heal. And as your leg heals you would do physical therapy and gradually nurse it back into shape,This is no different

"You have to accept yourself as you are and God as God is, and trust that He will lead you in a way that may not always feel comfortable, but that is best for you”
- Father Thomas Keating
I had my first major panic attack when I was 17. I would continue to battle serious mental health challenges that would leave me feeling all together broken for years.Deep in my suffering, I found comfort in labels like OCD, Anxiety, Depression, and Intrusive thoughts - that I wasn't suffering alone. But deep in me something was stirring I felt there had to be more to all this than just managing a disorder.I was introduced by a mentor to this idea of mental fitness. That I wasn't broken but was out of shape. I was going to need to practice doing things very differently. Unlearning old things and practicing new things. Pushing into and past my limits of what I thought was possible. With time and consistent effort things started to get better. It wasn't so much about escaping my struggles but rather learning to develop the capacity in and through them. What I thought was the biggest problem of my life was actually the doorway to a much more Divine process. As I practiced my values, and leaned into the discomfort, what I have discovered is no less than sacred and holy. The problem, that I thought was the problem, wasn't the problem - it was an invitation to a transformative path of engaging with my life with all my heart and connecting with the Divine.
Currently based out of American Fork, Utah - Zac helps facilitate and guide individuals and groups on how to build, apply, and cultivate the capacities for using their mental health as an invitation for transformation and freedom.

My journey into health and natural healing began when I was 9 years old. I was experiencing chronic strep throat and nothing, including antibiotics, would help. Luckily, my Mom listened to her intuition and took our family down a path of true healing.
After changing our diet for only 2 months, my strep went away entirely. I remember thinking, “Wow, eating healthy is awesome!”Fast forward several years and I was 20 years old. I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and told I would probably need a wheelchair eventually. Like my mom, I had a feeling there was something more that I could do. In other words, I was divinely forced to trust God, and find a different way of healing.
Once I found the people and tools to help me, I was 100% better within 6 months. Wowza! I wanted everyone to know what I now knew because I was on cloud 9 and feeling so alive. That experience led me to become a nutritional coach and help others heal by addressing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies combined. At Adventum, I’m passionate about walking alongside individuals as they reconnect with themselves, restore alignment, and step into who they were created to be. I am excited to support the development of holistic wellness initiatives, and create retreats and other experiences that allow people to slow down, heal deeply, and grow in a supportive community to true divine alignment with themselves and God.
A phrase I tell myself daily: “There’s no right time. There’s no wrong time. There’s just your time.” As humans, we often feel like we’re behind or playing catch-up—but the only clock that matters is your own.As a member of the Adventum team, we strive to guide individuals through a mental fitness approach that builds strength, capacity, and endurance—supporting deeper, more meaningful human experiences. I’ve always wrestled with what it truly means to be human. Working through a mental fitness framework has helped me clarify my core values and strengthen my connection to them, giving me tools to approach life with greater awareness and intention. This was no easy task. I stopped seeing myself as a problem to fix and started seeing myself as an adventure to navigate—and it changed everything. In a world focused on diagnoses, I’ve learned that true growth comes from exploring who you are, beyond any label or diagnosis. This understanding is what fuels my passion for helping others develop the mental fitness framework they need to move forward, even in moments of uncertainty or challenge. I believe growth happens when people feel seen, capable, and equipped—and it’s a privilege to walk alongside others on that journey. At Adventum, we combine practical tools, reflective exercises, and human-centered guidance to help individuals develop mental resilience, clarity, and intentionality in their lives.

- Suzuki Roshi
What if it was never about trying to get over or away from the difficult thoughts and feelings you are experiencing? What if it was learning to become more integrated through them? What if they are pointing us to a deeper more transformative path?Navigating mental health in this modern world has never been more difficult. Something or someone is always pushing or pulling for your attention.Your mind runs around like an untrained puppy dog chasing squirrels and digging up intrusive thoughts, finding things in the past to fix, trying to control everything so nothing bad will happen in the future, and generally having a really difficult time concentrating or focusing on the present moment longer than a few seconds.Your feelings seem to betray you. You are fueled by fear, reaction, shame & guilt. The urge of the never ending chase to catch up or be somewhere else rather then where you are right now seems to linger around like an unforgettable ghost.Deep down you want to do the things you value and care about, you want to build intimate connections, and you want to live into your purpose. But instead find yourself spending all your time trying to get those things and avoid bad things instead of living them. Thinking that if you can just push harder, perform more, or fix things well enough you will finally 'make it'...Leaving you living in a constant state of anxiety, depression, and suppression with habits and activities to try and cope with the pain. Living in a constant state of distraction and dissonance of alignment you Internalize and perpetuate the narrative that you are a problem to fix, disordered, and broken. Constantly seeking wholeness outside of yourself. But what if that isn't the case? What if you are not a problem to fix? What if you are not disordered and broken? What if you simply haven't built the skills and capacity to engage more fully and completely with the human experience? What if you could learn how to have any thought or feeling and do the things you care about most? What if it is this very path of integration that enables you to connect with, accept, and be nurtured by Divine Light, Love, and Life?
Whether you have found that life has become unscalable the way that you are living it or you simply want to learn how to have more integrated mental health this could be a good place for you.At Adventum we take a skills and fitness based approach to mental health freedom. We also introduce the beginnings of a transformative practice as a doorway to the Divine. On this path we have found that it leads to exploration in the depths of being that we can only describe as Sacred & Holy.We practice the skills for navigating change and learning how to accept and apply Grace. This journey becomes a beautiful adventure of wonder and awe. We engage in this process of applying our intention and attention in ways that produce freedom, deepen our humanity, and connect us with Divinity.Welcome to the Adventure.

- John A Shedd
This is a framework for developing mental, emotional, and spiritual freedom and transformation. It is not a 'quick fix', in fact it isn't a fix at all. Rather it is tools, maps, mentorship & community to empower you to cultivate inner freedom, awareness, and live into who you are meant to become. To be integrated by your mental health instead of debilitated by it.A skills & practice approach to an embodied and integrated mind, heart, and body.Regardless of your belief and faith background, this is not intended to take the place of your personal faith or religious practice - rather it is a guide and framework to support, empower, and be a supplement to whatever that spiritual practice looks like for you in your life.It is a combining of mental, emotional and wisdom based practices for a strategic, empowering framework for integrating through your mental health challenges for inner freedom, transformation, & connecting with Love, Life, & Light.
Is this you?
• You know there has got to be more, you have been feeling called into more, and you have a desire to connect with that inner knowing.

Overview of the Path
The Adventure
Mental health challenges are a doorway to the Adventure of an awakened heart, claiming wholeness & deep spiritual practice instead of a problem to fix or a disorder to manage. We lean into the hope, empowerment & genuine Divine connection that comes from taking full ownership of our mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Practice in Presence
Paying attention to how we pay attention is at the heart of our practice.Sincere intention and attention are the building blocks of development.
Patterns & Turning Towards
There are patterns of behavior (compulsions/safety behaviors) that we engage with inside and outside of our heads to control or avoid uncertainty including the thoughts, feelings, & sensations we don't like (disturbances). We take an active participating role in bringing awareness to those patterns in mind, heart, and body. Turning towards those disturbances as a doorway to waking up to what our hearts are being called into.
Mental Health as the Doorway
The mind is often the first line of defense to guarding against having a direct relationship with those disturbances and uncertainties - we lean on useful maps and structures to help identify where we are getting caught in these loops and practice innovating into and beyond the limiting edges.
Integrated & Embodied
More than just mental well-being: The Mind, Heart & Body are all interconnected. Instead of trying to get up and away we use this practice to integrate in and through.Opening to the unifying sensitive heart.Entering the knowing and grounded body. What once may have felt like our greatest roadblock or disturbance becomes the doorway for waking up to the True source of Love, Life, & Light.
Come Into Being - Shifting Gravity
This Divine therapy of exiting old patterns of compulsion and trusting into the unknown, catalyzes a shift in gravitational pull. From fear to values. From lower nature to higher nature. From the limited to the limitless Divine. Increasing our capacity to channel more Love, Light, and Life in our lives.Centered & Aligned. We take a Christ-Centered approach to trusting and letting go into the free fall of uncertainty. Connecting to and being transformed by Light and Grace. Fundamentally shifting the ways in which we look for happiness, fulfillment, healing and Love at all levels of our being.
Cross Training in Development
We cross train in other ancient wisdom traditions and draw from their deep wells that inform this practice of human development and spiritual awakening in our modern day.
The Adventure
What is left when we let go of and peel back the layers of distraction, control, avoidance, and reaction? When we risk having a direct relationship and experience with our own wounding, fears, and vulnerabilities? When we become available to what is underneath? What does it look like when we are no longer making decisions based on the tossing waves of fear & trauma? At Adventum we explore that process of returning. We practice what it looks like to make sustainable long term changes instead of getting caught up in the storms of stories and fear. Cultivating awareness around how in our attempts to stay safe from the heart breaking vulnerabilities we find ourselves stuck in mental illness, addictive loops, and cycles of suffering.Although the storm may rage, the calm always comes. We learn to innovate over the high waves of defense, and integrate in and through the heart of the earth. Allowing the bodies held traumas and the hearts guarded sensitivities to release. With each passing wave we settle in deeper and deeper to the core of our being. What is beyond the break? What is discovered when we go through the turbulence. Unsearchable depths and the mysteries of the Divine, Unity of being.A shift in gravity occurs again and again as we let go of what once held us captive and ease into direct experience with our deepest disturbance. Offering liberation to mind, heart, body, and spirit.Offering a new path to development, new eyes to the spiritual world. We being to vibrate with the movements of Love, Life, and Light.Having a guide and community in entering and moving through that storm can be invaluable. The mind digging up every last fear that pull you back into the fight, the heart raging with emotions and distrust, the body ceasing up and holding all the experiences that haven't quite burned their way all the way through.Although your journey of decent is uniquely yours there are others who have gone on the paths that you desire to explore. There are fellow travelers who are entering the journey with you. There are structures and maps that you can lean on to navigate the intensities ahead. There are patterns of behavior that we engage without even knowing. You can learn to pay attention to these patterns. To bring the sanctifying influence of your direct presence to the
The Adventure
The Adventure
We believe that on the path to giving ourselves to what we love, it isn't about trying to 'solve' for symptoms of pain but rather letting those symptoms and disturbances point us to the parts of us that are asking to be seen, heard, loved, claimed & Integrated. When it comes to our mental, emotional, and spiritual development we engage in the adventure of embracing and metabolizing the turbulence & uncertainty as a Grace filled invitation from the Divine to expand and come more into being.
Mind, Heart, Body, Spirit
We believe that the Mind, Heart, Body, & Spirit are all interconnected. We take a 'holistic' approach to integrating into the human experience - by taking a look at the whole system and how we are operating that system in all areas of our life - we can engage in practices that will allow for healing, development, freedom & ultimately stepping into who we were created to be.
Practice in Presence
We believe that power comes as we engage all our faculties in the Divine present moment. Paying attention to the way that we are paying attention. We believe that we are already whole. Claiming our wholeness & development in the practice of gathering, collecting, and unifying mind, heart, body, and spirit to the present moment in greater Love, Light & Divinity.Sincere intention and attention are the foundations for all other practices.
Patterns & Turning Towards
We believe that we fundamentally all have ways in which we seek safety, security, pleasure, and control in ways that ultimately cannot satisfy.Explore and understand the patterns in which we control, check on, cope with, and avoid the disturbances in mind, heart, body, & spirit. The ways in which we operate from scarcity and react to fear, old emotional programs, traumas & beliefs. We can practice turning towards, leaning into, and innovating out of the patterns of compulsion to be grounded in values & the Divine for abundance, freedom, redemption, authenticity & transformation.
Mental Health as the Doorway
Our mental health - thought forms, thought patterns - are often the first frontier in which we encounter the disturbances of the heart, body, and spirit. Intrusive thoughts, feelings, and sensations that we don't like. And we use the mind to try and fix, control, check, cope, and avoid those disturbances.Using Values as the anchor we can practice having any thought or feeling and giving ourselves to what we care about most. Mental health fitness becomes the doorway to innovation, integration, and expansion. There are maps and structures that we can lean on to make long term sustainable changes to our mental operating system.
Claim Wholeness
What if - underneath all the things you do to try and fill a gap - you are already whole. When you peel back the layers of coping, checking, avoiding, and controlling that what you find is what you truly wanted is already here.Where else would it be?Wholeness. Given by Grace. Completely unearned. At the center of your being.Imagine how you would approach life, relationships, and yourself if you were coming from being already whole? We often mistake our disturbances as disorders but what if they are simply the guide posts to inviting us to claim our wholeness and unify our parts of being as one.
Cultivate Inner Freedom
Freedom isn't in the final dissolution of any thought, feeling, or experience you don't like - rather it is in the integrating and metabolizing of them.Freedom is the ability to have any thought, feeling, or sensation and be able to choose to give yourself to what you love with greater capacity without being gripped by them.We all have safety systems to shield our vulnerabilities, we all have had experiences that hurt and didn't burn all the way through, we all have upbringings and cultures that influence our actions, we all have limiting beliefs and the noise of the world telling us who we should be and how we should act. We all have fears seek to take control.Freedom is not in the escaping those things, but in confronting, feeling, and integrating them. We can developmentally grow in and through as much as we increase up and out.Our hearts become open and soft willing to embrace the heartbreak of humanity. Our minds become single and focused allowing us to settle into the core of our being. Our bodies relax and rest. Letting go of the held experiences and traumas of the years and generations.Freedom to embrace the gratitude, the depths of sorrow and everything in between in mind, heart, and body.
Connect with Divinity
There is a way when we stop reacting to fear and get really honest with ourselves that invites a genuine connection with the Divine. We come to notice that the hunger that has driven us to explore into the depths of our being was something Divine already working in us. Moving us, and inviting us into the Light.Divinity at the center of our being, in the depths of our understanding, lighting the way through the light of day and the unseen guiding influence through the dark nights. Has been in constant pursuit of inviting us home.
The Path
We See you
Have you found yourself getting caught up in anxiety & depression?Do you fall into puddles of burnout and procrastination after telling yourself you are really going to make changes this time?Do you spend a lot of time in your head arguing, debating and bumping into your thoughts?
What if there is a different way
What if the experiences and struggles that you are facing aren't something you need to fix or solve? What if there isn't anything wrong with you?
The problem, you think is the problem, isn't the problem
What if it isn't about getting rid of anxiety, depression, or intrusive thoughts? What if it is about learning how practice your values while having any thought or feeling?
The Marathon Analogy
We are going to approach your mental and emotional capacities like we would training for a marathon. We are not fixing a running disorder we are building the capacity to run more miles. We are going to train into having more
The Doorway
Mental and emotional fitness will paralell that same training. You'll set the goal as learning how to live into your values. You are going to expand your capacity to hold and have any thought, emotional experience, or sensation. With that goal you may need to unlearn how you have been engaging the world inside and outside of your head for your whole life.Learning to increase your strength, endurance, and capacity for any thought or feeling as you give your time and attention (inside and outside of your head) to what you care about. You'll push into your perceived limits, you'll fail often, it will be sweaty, rewarding work. But your capacity will expand.
3 Pillar Path
Mental Fitness
Panic attacks, constant buzz of anxiety, feelings of impending doom, dark prisons of depression, reacting to fear, inability to focus, barrage of intrusive thoughts and suffocating feelings... leaving you disoriented, estranged, numb, burned out and feeling broken on all accounts. The 'livable' space in your life getting smaller and smaller.Or maybe you are just generally finding yourself in mental ditches or getting stuck.Looking for ways to distract yourself from the pain but creating dissonance from your hearts greatest concerns. The problem you think is the problem isn't the problem.
A Psychological foundation for recognizing the patterns of your brain and how to make and sustain changes for long term health and happiness. You may struggle with OCD, ADHD, or any variety of a mental health labeled cocktail of 'disorders'. Those labels can be useful to describe an experience and can often bring a lot of relief to know that you aren't alone in your struggle. But you don't want to stay there. They are pointing to patterns and deeper layers of fears & beliefs. The goal isn't to manage symptoms.A runner training for a marathon wouldn't be trying to 'fix' a running disorder. Rather they are training to increase their strength, endurance, and capacity to run the long miles. They may need to unlearn the way they have been running for years to make those miles more scalable. Not only would they look at how they run the miles, they would look at how they do everything. Changes in fueling, sleeping, supports, and community will occur to meet the increased capacity.Mental health and wellbeing are no different. You are not a problem to fix. You are building the capacity to step into uncertainty as you build and grow the things you care about. Expanding your range for the full range of human experience on that journey. There may be areas that are particularly difficult for you, that pattern running those mental crashes is the same pattern operating in other areas that don't seem distressful. The changes will include nothing short of a complete shift in how you operate in the world in all areas inside and outside of your head. You can fundamentally change the operating system in your brain with practice, consistency, and pushing into and past your perceived limits. It may feel safe to hide behind the mental health diagnosis but in so doing denying your divine potential. There is something deeper within your being calling you into more. You can ditch the mental illness and mental health labels. You can leave it all behind for an Adventure of exploring and living into who you were meant to become. At Adventum we speak to and teach to this path. Providing structures, maps, and guidance to empower you as you have your direct experience with navigating those changes and terrain.
Integrated Practice
The mind has it's patterns but what about the heart and the body? The heart thrashes from broken trust and wounded vulnerabilities. The body rigid and alert holding the traumas of a lifetime. Burdened by the experiences that didn't quite burn all the way through. Leaving you constantly reacting to that environment instead of living from the center of your being. There are parts of you that you shame, push away, or think 'shouldn't' be here. But what if there are no bad parts? What if it isn't about getting up and away from those disturbances but learning to integrate in and through them?
By turning towards the pain, the shame, the wounding & the perceived darkness of your self you can learn to integrate, accept, and unite all your parts in one. What does it mean to drop in and see the world through the eye of the heart?
What would it look like to find deep rest in your body?Integrative practice is becoming aware of the defense mechanisms and safety systems, bringing love and presence to them, and letting them metabolize into expanded capacity for Love, Life, & Light. At Adventum we provide resources, support, and tools to the integrative practice.
Connect with the Divine
There is a yearning deep within all of us. To be seen, loved, and accepted completely. The Wisdom traditions are rich with deep perspectives on how to engage in this practice of human development and connecting with the Divine. With a mental fitness and integrative practice we invite Divinity in a whole new way.
When we fast from feeding our insatiable compulsions for safety/security, affection/esteem, & power/control we practice shifting our gravity. What once rules our decisions and reactions now is liberated in the Divine presence of God's Light. What once was lacking is now overflowing.Relationship that once may have been performative & compulsive shifts to being transformative. When we are willing to turn towards our disturbances and integrate in and through them we participate in the living life of Christ. The Divine therapist gracefully helps us let go of the old, burn through what hasn't been felt, and unify our parts in Divine Union. In the beginning we may have thought that we were the ones doing all the changing, as we progress, we come to experience that something Divine has been working in and through us the whole time. Inviting us home to the wholeness and worth that has been here all along. What once began as a mental health struggle has now become the doorway to a deep transformative spiritual practice. Very much awake and alive. Authentic to your own direct experience. We let go of control and leap into the groundless ground of Christ's upward gravitational pull.At Adventum we explore this transformative wisdom practice along with other wisdom traditions that point us to Divine reality of Love, Life & Light.
Mental Fitness / Divinity
Mental Fitness
Adventum is not mental health counseling or mental health therapy. It is a mentorship and community where we teach instruct, guide, and support you on the path to change. We take a 'mental fitness' approach to learning to navigate the mind in tandem with other wisdom integrated practices to live into your values and expand into the full range of the human experience. The principles of fitness - building strength & endurance, rest, consistency, leaning into discomfort - are directly applicable to the mental health landscape. If you were to work with a team, community, or mentor as you were training for a marathon we approach mental health the same way. You will find guidance, support, directives, and fellow travelers as you engage having your own direct experience with the territory and skills.
Mental Health Labels
We approach and view mental health labels as a way to describe a particular experience. While things like OCD. ADHD, Perfectionism, Procrastination, Depression, Anxiety, etc. can all be useful in helping to describe a particular experience, we see them as just that, an experience not a permanent position in life.At Adventum we practice understanding the patterns underneath the experiences that are driving the outcomes and behavior and engage in making changes across the board. It has been our direct experience, that if you want to, you can leave the mental health label behind as you fundamentally practice and train your way into a completely different way of operating.
Divinity
At Adventum we invite everyone to trust themselves and follow the Love & Light that resonates with them. This is not meant to replace your faith or religion. Rather a community and school to help you practice the skills to live into your hearts greatest concerns. A supplement to whatever your tradition, faith & belief that most resonates with you.Throughout Adventum you will find deep resonance and foundations of a Christ centered integrated practice. We draw from the Christian mystics and point to a Christ centered Gravitational pull of acceptance, surrender, and giving. We recognize that this language may not resonate with everyone or may even be triggering. We invite you to look beyond the language and trust your inner knowing of what resonates and nourishes your soul.We also explore other ancient wisdom traditions that deeply inform this path of human development and spiritual awakening.Whatever you take to be ultimate reality, the Divine in your life, we invite you be your own spiritual authority and to join with us and bring your unique spiritual path as we practice and travel together.
